During that time, someone who’s having an issue with blood is considered unclean. Everyone and everything this woman touches becomes unclean as well, kaya nilalayuan siya ng mga tao. She was miserable, isolated, and ostracized. Rejected siya ng mga tao.

A j oint study at the University of California and Purdue University led by Dr. Naomi Eisenberger and Kipling Wiliams found that social rejection aches like physical pain. It activates many of the same brain regions involved in physical pain. They concluded, “As far as your brain is concerned, a broken heart is not so different from a broken arm.” Rejection, if not dealt with properly, will create many problems and lead to many consequences.

However, we have a God who loves us unconditionally and accepts our flaws and imperfections. God can even use our weakness, limitations, and even sickness to show His glory.

When Jesus was asked by His disciples who sinned, referring to the man who was born blind, He answered, “It was not that this man sinned, or his parents, but that the works of God might be displayed in him” John 9:3 (ESV).

Going back to the woman with the issue of blood, Jesus called her daughter, an endearment full of love, acceptance, and grace. That day, He restored her body. That day, He healed her soul.
