Social distancing was enforced.

But come to think of it, wasn’t the first Christmas also a time of crisis and difficulty? Mary and Joseph had to travel on foot from Nazareth to Bethlehem to register for the nationwide census. One hundred kilometers ang layo. Naglakad sila ng tatlong araw. Si Maria ay malapit nang manganak. At sila ay nasa unfamiliar territory. Napakaraming tao, kaya wala silang nakuhang disenteng matutuluyan.

In such a turbulent and hazardous time, sabi sa Luke 2:10, “But the angel said to them, ‘Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people.” Verse 11 adds, “Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord.”

No matter how bleak our circumstances are, how dark the horizon seems to be, how hopeless the situation we find ourselves in, we have this good news of great joy. Maligayang Pasko po sa ating lahat.
