Bibigyan ko kayo ng bagong puso … Ang masuwayin ninyong puso ay gagawin kong pusong masunurin.

Ezekiel 36:26

Charisse was on the operating table for three hours awaiting surgery. Pero hindi pa rin natuloy ang operasyon dahil meron palang blood clot ang donor. Charisse has been waiting for years for a heart transplant. Gaano katagal pa kaya before a new heart is available to her?

Not everyone with a heart condition will need a new heart. But here’s something to think about: Heart patient or not, we all need a new heart. It’s not because we are suffering from a fatal heart disease. It’s because a human heart’s natural condition is evil and there is no other way for us to recover from this spiritual illness. If you don’t believe this, here’s the diagnosis from God’s Word.

1. “The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure” (Jeremiah 17:9).
2. “For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false witness, slander. These are what defile a person” (Matthew 15:1920a).

Thank God that He provided a way to give us a new heart, as our severely damaged hearts would lead us to eternal death. He sent His Son Jesus Christ to die on the cross, breaking the power of sin through His resurrection. For anyone who repents and calls on the name of Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, God performs a heart transplant. He said, “I will give you a new heart … I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh” (Ezekiel 36:26). And with the help of the Holy Spirit, this new heart will allow us to live in harmony with Our Creator!
