Did you know that there are 743 species of birds in the Philippines? Kahit nakatira ka pa in the middle of the city, you can still observe dozens of kinds of birds! Madalas ay akala natin hindi sila ganoon karami dahil hindi sila nakikita kaagad. Pero andiyan sila sa mga damuhan, halaman, puno, mga kawad, at bubong.

Just like birds, there are things in our midst that we thought don’t exist simply because we don’t see them — kagaya ng mga anghel! They exist among us, and they have very important roles in God’s Kingdom.

Ayon sa Bible, nakakamangha ang ginagawa ng mga anghel. Angels serve the Lord in so many ways, especially as His messenger. They announce that the Lord is with His people (Judges 6:12; Luke 1:28). Nagbabalita sila ng kabutihan at kapangyarihan ng Diyos (Genesis 18; Daniel 8; Luke 1–2). God sends them to do many things according to His will — like providing for His people (1 Kings 19:5–8) and protecting them (Psalm 91:11–12). Ang nakakatuwa pang isipin ay maaaring may nakasalamuha na tayong anghel nang hindi natin nalalaman (Hebrews 13:2)!

It’s amazing to realize that there are indeed heavenly beings that exist that we don’t see. Angels are around us and among us! This is good news, not because they are our saviors, but because they confirm the presence and power of our true Savior. We are assured of God’s love and guidance, and this leads us to worship and thank God.
