Natawag ka na bang quitter? Na-tag ka na bang mabilis mag-give up? Masakit marinig ito especially when other people mock your decision to stop and let go. Besides, this world gives out medals to those who persevere and pursue until they get to the finish line, not to those who quit.

However, giving up and letting go isn’t always a bad thing. Sabi nga sa Ecclesiastes 3:6 (NIRV), “There is a time to search. And there’s a time to stop searching. There is a time to keep. And there’s a time to throw away.”

We’ve all been guilty of trying to pursue something or someone that’s not meant for us. It could be a questionable means of earning. It could be an experience that’s pleasurable for the moment but is sinful in the eyes of God, or a bad relationship. Malamang ay naranasan na nating piliting gawin ang isang bagay na tayo lang ang nakikinabang pero nasasaktan at naa-agrabyado naman ang ibang tao. There’s a ton of scenarios that might seem advantageous and permissible, but not actually beneficial. And these are the things na matagal nang sinasabi ni God na i-let go natin pero pinagpipilitan pa rin nating maangkin.

It’s easy to be trapped in situations that we think are maturing us. But there’s a time to accept if something is not meant for us. Giving up on something or letting go of someone can sometimes be the best decision we can ever make. It means surrendering to the perfect will of God. Loosening our grip shows our faith in God, believing that He has something better for us.
