Can You Read My Mind?
Awit 139:1–2
Who doesn’t love the appeal of being able to do something others can’t? One person said, “If I had a superpower, I want it to be the ability to read people’s minds. Bakit?
Thank God, nobody has this power. It is only the Creator who has this ability to know what’s going on inside our heads. He even knows our true emotions better than we do.
So what now?
He is aware of our motives even if we claim something else. Napaka-powerful ng thought life natin because it may lead us to say or do something hurtful or sinful. Kaya nga Paul reminded us to take every thought captive (2 Corinthians 10:5). You can ask yourself, What would Jesus feel if He could read my mind now?
Second, it is comforting to know that Jesus feels what we feel. Hindi natin kailangang mag-pretend na OK tayo. We can cry out for comfort and help when we pray. In His loving-kindness, He provides us with inexplicable love na tayo lang ang nakaka-intindi. The problem does not get resolved right away when we pray but He is showing us what to do through His Word. God will also use people to encourage us, pray with us, and share godly wisdom.
So the next time you think you are alone in your thoughts, remember the Lord is present even in your thought life. Will He be pleased with your thoughts?
LET’S PRAY
Lord, I surrender my thought life to you. Rebuke my thoughts when I think ill of myself, others, and You. May I have a hunger for Your Word that I may not sin against You. Amen.
APPLICATION
Journaling helps filter our thoughts and process our emotions. Instead of ranting on social media, a private journal is your conversation with God.
