Welcome back to the last part of our series “Trusting God in Times of Disappointments.” Let’s find out how earthly disappointments can actually be a means of divine protection.

Awit 18:2–3

Remember our friend Ezekiel who was fired from his job three days before getting married? Because his faith was in the Lord Jesus Christ, he saw that earthly disappointment as God’s direction. Without work, he now had more time to attend to all the other wedding details. He also had more time to help his future wife settle into their new home!

Ezekiel also discovered that this earthly disappointment was God’s way of protecting him. Several of his former officemates shared that their former boss fired people because he wanted to try out a new work process while also reducing overhead costs. However, this workflow severely affected output quality and resulted in the loss of many long-time clients. To top it all off, stress was at an all-time high; those who remained in the company were given enormous workloads, turning them into nervous wrecks as they were also afraid of being fired like the former employees. Many of them thought it was only a matter of time before the business closed for good.

Meanwhile, Ezekiel was enjoying quality time with his wife Janella and dog Samson, helping them adjust to one another and regaining much-needed rest from wedding stress.
