Kinonsulta niya ang best friend niya who told her: “Follow your heart.”

Now that they are working in the same office, his heart would beat faster whenever he sees her. He tells himself: “I am truly in love!”

“Follow your heart.” If it feels right, then go for it!

The Bible warns us against following our hearts. When the Bible talks about the heart, it represents the center of thoughts, feelings, and actions. According to today’s verse, likas na mandaraya raw ang ating mga puso. Kailangan laging i-check natin kasi our own hearts can deceive us. We tend to be self-serving, proud, and hypocritical. All the evil desires can be hidden in our hearts and justified in so many ways. But God can search our deepest thoughts and scrape clean the evil desires within.

This is why we should yield to God to allow Him to search our hearts. How do we do that? By saturating our hearts with the Word of God by reading it daily and following it. We should allow the Word of God to fill our hearts and pray for the Holy Spirit’s guidance as we seek wisdom for the small and big decisions. Lastly, we should follow God and let Him rule our hearts.
