Forgive?

Meron ka bang kagalit? May tao ka bang nasaktan? Paano bang makipagbati? Let us allow God to speak to us today. Welcome to our series “Bati na Tayo.”
Mateo 18:21–22
I will never forgive him! Over my dead body!
Every kind of relationship experiences conflict dahil tayo ay mga imperfect people. We unintentionally or sometimes intentionally hurt other people. It also happens to us — we get hurt by other people. Because of this, we long for a sense of justice. We seek it in the form of revenge or through cutting ties.
But there is a better way. When Peter asked Jesus about the issue of how many times he must forgive a person, Jesus gave the perfect answer.
Forgiveness sets us free from bitterness. When we do not forgive, we imprison ourselves in hatred. Nahihirapan tayong mag-grow.
Forgiveness also allows God’s love to be shown in our lives. When we forgive, we speak the language of God’s love.
It sounds so impossible to forgive without limits.
The Word of God is powerful. We trust that God will empower you to do what is right. Join us again tomorrow for part 2 of our series “Bati na Tayo.”
LET’S PRAY
Lord Jesus, I release forgiveness to all the people who have hurt me. Help me let go of the bitterness I feel in my heart and trust that You will heal my broken heart.
APPLICATION
If possible, talk to the people with whom you have conflict. Let them know that you have forgiven them. Kung hindi naman, list their names, then say, “I forgive this person,” and let the Holy Spirit cleanse your heart from guilt and anger.
