Healing Your Inner Child
Ito ay naging matunog sa online community particularly sa Millenials at Gen Z. This trend showed different people enjoying their childhood hobbies or doing things they never experienced when they were younger.
Jung discovered that the “inner child” is the collection of our experiences that develops into scripts or mindsets. Ito ang naggagabay sa atin in decision making and is responsible for most of our behavioral patterns.
This inner child may be healthy or wounded. These wounds can be either wounds of invasion or deprivation. And because we live in a broken world, along with imperfect people, it is inevitable to have a wounded inner child.
Healing our inner child then is beyond rewarding ourselves with gifts and experiences. It is a divine work that only God can do. When Jesus died on the cross, hindi lang Niya binayaran ang ating mga kasalanan at binigyan tayo ng buhay na walang hanggan. He also brought us back to our original identities and purpose. Part of this restoration is by healing the wounds we received from people. This is done through receiving God’s forgiveness and extending forgiveness to those who wounded us.
Healing the wounds of your inner child takes time. But God is faithful. God is not only our Savior, but He is also our Healer. By His stripes, we are healed — physically and emotionally.
LET’S PRAY
Holy Spirit, heal my inner child. May I experience wholeness through Your grace and kindness. Amen.
APPLICATION
Application: Identify the wounds of your past. Prayerfully meditate on scriptures that show God’s love, forgiveness, and healing.
