Nagbuntis siya at dumating ang araw na siya’y nagsilang ng isang sanggol na lalaki. Samuel ang ipinangalan niya rito sapagkat ang sabi niya, “Hiningi ko siya kay Yahweh.”

Have you ever prayed with all your heart for something you desperately wanted? Tipong taon na ang binilang, pero wala pa ring sagot. Every reunion may nagtatanong, “Kelan na?” or “Wala pa ba?” Every social media scroll may trigger. Minsan ayaw mo lang aminin, pero sa loob mo sinasabi mo, “Sana ako naman.” Pero kahit na masakit, you still pray. Umaasa ka pa rin. Iniiyak mo pa rin siya kay Lord. 

Ganyan si Hannah. For years, she felt forgotten. She cried silently, then cried bitterly. But she kept praying with tears, trusting God would see her pain.

And finally, God answered.

Madalas nating naririnig ang kasabihang God has a purpose for every test or trial. Today, let’s pause and reflect on the truth that God also has a purpose for every answered prayer. What can we learn about God’s answer to Hannah’s prayer when He gave her a son?

Samuel became one of the most important prophets in Israel’s history. He anointed Israel’s first two kings, Saul and David. He led the Israelites in a time of spiritual darkness. He helped transition Israel from the time of judges to an era of monarchy. Imagine that! Hannah’s answered prayer shaped the direction of a whole nation!

Minsan iniisip natin na ang answered prayer ay para lang sa atin. Pero may purpose ang bawat “yes” ni God. When He answers our prayers, it’s not just to bless us but to fulfill His greater plan through us.

So if you’ve been praying for something, remember this: God sees, God hears, and when He answers, it’s not random. There’s a purpose behind it. And that purpose always goes beyond us.
