How do you handle disappointments in life?

Mahirap mag-move on when things don’t turn out the way you expected, but cultivating an attitude of gratitude can heal the wounds that disappointment leaves behind.

We are not advocating toxic positivity. We don’t have to pretend that our hopes weren’t dashed. We feel bad about our wasted efforts, after all. Pero puwede nating sabihing, “Lord, things aren’t OK now, but I choose to be grateful and to believe that You are going to turn things around for my favor.”

Think back to the moments when you felt broken and alone, but suddenly, nakatanggap ka ng encouragement… the perfect words to fill you up again. Like Hagar in Genesis 16, you discovered that the Lord can be your El Roi, which means “The God who sees.” The Lord sees the situations we are in, and He will do something about it.

Choose to be grateful because tulad ng sinasabi sa Psalm 139, the Lord knows everything about us, including our weaknesses and failures. And yet, He loves us. We are precious to Him!

There are times when you might wonder if your needs will be met. Gratefulness can overtake our doubts and disappointments if we focus on this truth — our God is the same yesterday, today, and always. He is our Heavenly Father. He is our provider. The answers to our prayers may not be in the exact shape or form that we imagine, but He will answer our prayers. He will follow through. 

Remember God’s faithfulness and thank Him for all He has done. This is the best way to deal with our disappointments in life.
