Tinutulungan niya, mga nagdurusa at di binibigo ang walang pag-asa.

Awit 34:18

Aray! Ang sakit!

The feeling of pain is something everyone is familiar with. Kapag nababangga ang ating paa sa lamesa o nasusugatan tayo, nakakaramdam tayo ng sakit. We sometimes wish that the pain will immediately go away. But did you know that pain is not an enemy? It indicates that something is wrong that needs our attention. If we don’t feel pain, mas malaki ang chance na mapahamak tayo.

This is true for those with congenital insensitivity to pain or CIP. This rare disease affects how they feel physical pain: they don’t! Many of them live short lives because medical emergencies, such as appendicitis, heart attack, or bone fractures, go completely unnoticed. Hindi kasi sila nakaramdam ng symptoms. Para sa kanila, hindi blessing ang walang pain. Ito ay isang sumpa.

But people are not limited to going through physical pain. We also experience a different kind of hurt, the emotional kind. When we are betrayed, lied to, or when we lose someone we love, we feel pain. And this kind of pain may take months or years to fully heal.

Whatever kind of pain you are experiencing today, remember these two things. First, pain always has a purpose. It tells us that something is wrong, and it needs fixing or healing. We must pay attention to the pain we feel. Second, God is close to those experiencing pain and heartaches. He can heal our sicknesses and restore our broken pieces. Kailangan lang nating lumapit sa Kanya.
