What’s in Your Hand?
Exodo 4:1–2
Is the Lord leading you to do something for Him? Perhaps a leadership role at work or a new opportunity to influence more people? Ito ang dilemma ni Mich nang ma-assign siya to plan and facilitate a workshop for a group of leaders. Ang dami niyang naisip na excuses not to take on the role, but her boss insisted.
Araw-araw nararamdaman ni Mich ang insecurity lalo na may mga taong hindi bilib sa kanya. In her prayer time, she would ask the Lord, “Lord, why me? I have nothing to show these people. What can I offer them?” Then, she read the passage in the Bible where Moses also doubted if he could free the Israelites from the hands of Pharaoh. He also questioned his abilities and was afraid of Pharaoh’s power. But the Lord asked Moses, “What is that in your hand?” The staff in Moses’ hands became God’s instrument of power and authority.
Ipinakita ni Lord kay Mich na hindi niya kailangang maging expert, but she only needs to use the skills God has given her to complete the task. Finally, Mich was able to pull off a successful workshop. Her boss applauded her and said, “You did great, Mich! I knew you could do it.”
When the Lord calls you to work for Him, He will enable you to achieve great things through Him. Not because you have the inherent talent and are able, but because He gives you the gift and you are available. In the end, it’s His glory that shines most, and we are humble instruments of His will.
LET’S PRAY
Lord, when You give me a task that seems overwhelming, I will look to You first. You trust me to do the work because You gave me the skills to accomplish big things. I will not steal the glory from You but bless You by the work I will do through You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
APPLICATION
Take an honest view of your gifts, skills, and experience. Make an inventory of your God-given gifts and ask God where you can use them for a greater purpose.
