Adoption is in the heart of God. He brings us into His family through our faith in His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ. The Bible says, “Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God” (John 1:12, NIV).

After the birth of Teddy, his parents gave him away to their rich employer. His adoptive mother showered him with love, but his adoptive father seemed indifferent. Yearning for acceptance from his adoptive father, he strived for academic excellence but to no avail. When he met Jesus, he felt the love he was looking for from our heavenly Father. Teddy gained compassion and understanding for his adoptive father. God softened his heart, and the two had a wonderful relationship before God took his adoptive father. Teddy met his biological parents before they passed and realized that they thought giving him away was their greatest act of love. Teddy is now married, and together with his wife and children, are passionately serving the Lord.

Some people view adoption negatively, when in fact, it is a very pious and noble deed. It is a selfless act of love for biological parents and a compassionate act for adoptive parents. God used him to free His people from bondage in Egypt. God used her to save the Jewish people from total annihilation. In the New Testament, Jesus Christ, conceived through the Holy Spirit, was adopted and raised by His mother’s husband, Joseph. He became the source of our eternal salvation.
