Holding Hands With God
“Sapagka’t akong Panginoon mong Dios, ay hahawak ng iyong kanang kamay na magsasabi są iyo, Huwag kang matakot; aking tutulungan ka.”
Isaias 41:13 TLAB
Do you still remember your Dad holding your hand when you were a kid? Your Dad’s big hand wrapped around yours like nothing could ever hurt you when you cross the street or when you are in a big crowd? You feel safe because you know you can depend on the one who is holding your hand.
Alam mo ba that studies show that holding hands creates a biological response that reduces stress by releasing the “cuddle hormone” oxytocin? Physiologically, this can lead to lower blood pressure, a reduced heart rate, and a calming effect on the nervous system. Erica Owen, in her magazine article, also said that “holding the hands also serves as a powerful form of communication, expressing affection, comfort, empathy, and a sense of shared connection or partnership.”
Just like a parent to his child, God is obligated to hold our hand especially when we are in a most fearful situation. He tells us in Isaiah 41:10 (NLT), “Don’t be afraid for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will uphold you with my victorious right hand.’’ Si Lord pa mismo ang nagsasabing mahigpit ang hawak Niya sa kamay natin leading us to victory.
And when we obey Him, He directs our steps because He delights in us. At sakaling madapa tayo, hindi Niya hahayaang tuluyan tayong matumba dahil hawak Niya ang ating kamay.
LET’S PRAY
Lord Jesus, thank You for reminding me that You are holding me tightly with Your victorious hand. No matter what I am going through, help me believe that You are always with me and feel Your mighty hand guiding me. Amen.
APPLICATION
Go for a walk and imagine Jesus holding your hand. Tell Him your good news and your challenges. Savor His Presence.
