Precious in His Sight
Naalala niya na ginawa niya ito when her other son was in ICU. The Lord replaced her fear with faith when she read Psalm 118:17 (NIV), “I will not die, but I will live and proclaim what the Lord has done.” And true enough, that time, her son recovered from dengue shock.
Now, another son was in critical condition, and Cherryl wanted to hear from the Lord. Nataon naman na nabasa niya ang verse sa Psalm 116:15 (KJV), “Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints.”
We can find a few examples of grieving parents in Scripture like David (2 Samuel 12:22–23) and Job (Job 1:18–19). It was her attempt to describe the pain and loss she was going through. But in God, there is hope. Minsan din Siyang nawalan ng Anak. He watched His Son die on the cross for you and me. He completely understands the devastating pain of this kind of loss. And that pain has a precious purpose.
Nilikha ng Diyos si Cherryl kaya God knows how to journey with her toward healing. God gave her the strength to accept the will of God knowing that the death of her son was precious in His sight.
LET’S PRAY
Lord, You give and take away. May Your Name be praised. And though they leave us, You grieve with us, and You will journey with us to the end. Amen.
APPLICATION
