Kung isasama natin sa bilang ang araw na ito, twelve days na lang Pasko na! In the midst of our busyness, let’s pause first and listen to God’s Word upang ang season na ito ay maging tunay na meaningful. Join us as we start our series “12 Days Before Christmas.”

Habang sila’y nasa Bethlehem, sumapit ang oras ng panganganak ni Maria. Isinilang niya ang kanyang panganay, na isang lalaki. Binalot niya sa lampin ang sanggol at inihiga sa isang sabsaban, sapagkat wala nang lugar para sa kanila sa bahay-panuluyan.

Lucas 2:6–7

Ilang araw na lang, Pasko na. If you’re like most people, sobrang stressed ka siguro dahil hindi mo pa nabibili ang lahat ng panregalo o kaya naman, hindi pa nakakapag-grocery pang-noche buena. Ilang gabi ka nang puyat sa kaka-attend ng Christmas parties at inuumaga sa pag-uwi dahil sa matinding traffic.

“Sana matapos na ang Pasko,” ang sabi mo sabay buntong-hininga. Gusto mo na kasing makapagpahinga at bumalik sa normal ang takbo ng buhay mo.

It’s sad that the busyness of the season would make one feel this way about Christmas. But what really happened on that actual day?

In Bethlehem, Mary and Joseph did not have a place to go. They ended up where animals were kept. There, Mary gave birth to Jesus. The Son of God, the Savior of the world, became flesh. It was a silent and holy night, sabi nga ng kanta. What a contrast!

For a change, would you consider making this Christmas a bit quieter and less busier? Instead of attending every party na invited ka, spend some time at home with your family. Together, you can read the Christmas story or have a short Bible study. Talk about who Jesus is for all of you. Ask each other what gift you can give to Jesus instead of what gifts you would like to receive. Like how about giving Jesus the gift of time? Or honoring Him by doing something special for people who cannot give anything back to you?

OK lang na hindi magarbo ang celebration ngayong Pasko. Have a simple Christmas as you remember na ang pinakamagandang maireregalo mo para sa Celebrant, si Jesus, ay ang puso mo.
