Ang taong masalita ay malapit sa pagkakasala, ngunit ang nagpipigil ng dila ay dunong ang pakilala.

Mga Kawikaan 10:19

Miriam tends to speak a lot under intense emotions. What other people dislike about her is her tendency to hurt others through words kapag galit siya. Oftentimes, may kasamang mura ang pakikipag-usap niya lalo na sa mga anak. Her children would rather go home late than go home to a nagger mom.

While God allows us to get angry when it’s reasonable, He reminds us not to sin despite going through overwhelming situations (Ephesians 4:26). Buti na lang we have a God who is understanding. Alam Niya na we will experience a lot in this world kaya hindi Niya tayo pinipigilan mag-express ng frustrations.

According to an article titled “The Neuroscience Behind Our Words,” scientific studies actually show that positive and negative words not only affect us on a deep psychological level, but they have a significant impact on the outcome of our lives. If we assess every word that comes out of our mouth, masasabi ba natin na they are encouraging to someone who might be experiencing depression? Is it helpful to someone who is sick? Is it uplifting to someone who’s about to give up?

If we are like Miriam and we want to change for the better, there is hope for us. Transformation can be found through Jesus Christ. We can come before Him in prayer and admit our mistakes. Through God’s forgiveness, kakayanin nating magbago. The process may be hard at first but through God’s help, we can do it.

When Miriam came to know Jesus Christ, her words and her tone changed. Her children started coming home early and spending more time at home.
