We are commanded by Jesus Himself in Luke 6:37, “Do not judge, and you will not be judged.”

Many people are quick to judge dahil sa pananalita, hitsura, pag-uugali, o estado sa buhay ng iba. But a person’s character is usually shaped by his/her experiences and environment. We must seek to understand why people act the way they do before we judge them. Bakit ba naging tsismosa si Marites? Bakit ba naging mataray si Karen? Baka may nangyari sa kanila in their childhood or naka-experience sila ng trauma.

In the same way na ayaw mong ma-judge ka dahil hindi nila alam ang kwento mo, ganun din naman ang ibang tao. Sadly, a person thinks that he is doing right in his own eyes kaya nagiging madaling maging judgmental sa iba. Harsh tayo sa pagtingin sa iba pero we make excuses for ourselves. Let’s be careful na hindi tayo maging hypocrites. Jesus warns us in Matthew 7:5, “You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.

Bawal maging judgmental. But being loving to others? Nothing should stop us from doing that.

LET’S PRAY

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

APPLICATION

Remember that we all have life stories na pwedeng masakit at mapait. Apply God’s word of not judging others and also, loving your neighbor as yourself.
