God has called each one of us for a purpose. And when we discover that and live according to it, we will be truly satisfied. Welcome to the last part of our series, “God’s Answers for Your Every Need.”

Sinabi sa kanya ni Yahweh, “Lumakad ka at gamitin mo ang buong lakas mo upang iligtas ang Israel mula sa mga Midianita. Ako mismo ang nagsusugo sa iyo.”

Mga Hukom 6:14

Sabi ng psychologist na si Abraham Maslow, we have esteem and self-actualization needs. Para magkaroon ng feeling of self-worth, we need to have goals that are worthy to work hard for.

We can always set goals for ourselves and try to define our life’s purpose. Pero iba kapag kay Lord galing ang bagay na ito. Tingnan na lang natin si Gideon. His life was ruled by fear dahil tuloy-tuloy ang pagtugis sa Israel sa mga kaaway nito. He did not expect that anything great will happen in his life — basta maitawid niya ang bawat araw, okay na siya.

Laking gulat na lang niya nang nagpakita sa kanya ang isang anghel. Sinabi nito that the Lord God had chosen him to lead Israel in the fight against their enemies. Inutos ng Panginoon that from 32,000 volunteers na handang makipaglaban, 300 lang ang dapat isama ni Gideon sa paglusob sa mga kalaban. The Lord wanted Israel to see that it isn’t their strength but instead, it was the true God who would give them victory (Judges 7:2–8).

Hindi madaling sundin ang utos na ito, but Gideon had enough faith to do so. His faith in God  was the reason he was able to fulfill his purpose, which was to rally Israel’s fighting men against their enemies. Are you ready to see where God will take you? Are you willing to put your faith in Him?
