Failure Is Not the End
Unaware of their unique and individual superpowers, they just did everything they could to help save their friends. Towards the end of the show, they looked back on how Gabby, who kept making mistakes, played a crucial role in their adventures. Gabby realized that these mistakes led her to finding the solutions for the problem. Finally, she declared what her superpower is — the power of making mistakes.
But unlike her, many of us have a hard time admitting our mistakes. Our performance-driven society has set the bar high for us. We have grades to earn in school, the legacy of our family we have to live up to, and the beauty and success standards to meet dictated to us by social media. It is tiring to live up to these expectations every day. It makes us feel like we cannot fail.
But we, imperfect people, are bound to make mistakes. What Proverbs 28:13 (TLB) says is very comforting: “A man who refuses to admit his mistakes can never be successful. But if he confesses and forsakes them, he gets another chance.” I am not saying that we can deliberately commit sin. But when we do, we can always come to God. Failure is not the ending of our story when the focus should be the redemption of God in our lives.
LET’S PRAY
Lord, I feel so bad for making this mistake. Forgive me for failing You. Thank You for Your grace that is always ready to embrace me despite my failures. Amen.
APPLICATION
Write “God’s Redemption” on a small piece of paper and post it on your refrigerator where you can always be reminded that when you make mistakes, you can always come to God for another chance.
