Heart Check
We can also use this warning in our everyday lives.
Una, kailangan nating mag-stop. Minsan, nakakalimutan nating mag-pause sa ating daily tasks. Kadalasan, our hearts are consumed with the pressures of the fast-paced life. Pangalawa, look. As we start to stop and look closer into our lives, we begin to seethe more important things. We realize that we need to realign our priorities. Ask yourself the question: “What occupies my time the most?” Lastly, listen. Listening makes us sensitive to what we need to understand. Do we have a quiet place where we can go so we can intentionally spend some time listening to God?
It is like doing a heart check every time we stop, look, and listen. The psalmist tells us in Psalm 37:4 (ESV), “Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.” Many of us usually notice the word “desires” first. This means our dreams and goals in life. But what about the word “delight,” which means “to take full satisfaction”? This verse actually reminds us that we must first focus on our relationship with God.Sadly, most of the time, we do our daily tasks and forget to spend time with God. As we focus on God, we should remember to put Him first in everything we do. After all, He knows about our needs and has the power to provide for us. As we stop, look, and listen, let’s delight in His presence and surrender everything to Him.
LET’S PRAY
Dear Jesus, may You continually move in my life as I find delight in Your presence daily. Have Your way in me and may Your will be done in my life. Amen.
APPLICATION
What are the things you are trusting Jesus for? Believe by faith that He will surely answer your prayers as you delight in Him.
