Mga Taga-Filipos 1:6

“Age is just a number.” “60 is the new 50.” “Lagpas man sa kalendaryo, aba’y may Bingo card pa naman!” Ilan lamang iyan sa  words of encouragement na maririnig natin kapag nadadagdagan ang edad ng isang tao. If you think about it, not everyone will live beyond the golden age of 50. To age is a blessing from the Lord. Alam ito ni Moses, kaya he asked God to teach him to number his days so that he may gain wisdom (Psalm 90:12).

You might think, “Retiring age na ako, may magagawa pa ba ako?” Oo naman! Abraham was 75 years old when he moved, along with his family, to Haran in obedience to God (Genesis 12:4), lived long, and died at a good old age serving God (Genesis 25:7–8). Moses was 80 years old when he was called by God to lead the Israelites out of Egypt. And then there was 84–year-old prophetess Anna. She never left the temple and worshiped God day and night. She prayed and fasted regularly, and lived to see Jesus presented at the temple (Luke 2:36–38). The Apostle Paul reminds believers that God is faithful to complete whatever good thing He has started in us.
