Hurry Up, Lord!
Marcos 5:36 (MBB)
Do you sometimes feel that God is taking His sweet time kahit may urgent kang pinagpe-pray? Maybe you’re stuck in traffic. But He seems to be not listening at all.
“Lord, paki-bilis! Mawawala na ’ko sa kalendaryo!”
So many times, we feel a sense of urgency but God doesn’t seem to care. It’s as if while we are already on the edge, nakaupo lang si God, kumakain ng popcorn, at pinapanood tayo.
But God is never in a hurry. In fact, even while on the way to Jairus’ house to heal his dying child, Jesus took time to speak to and cure a woman with a bleeding problem. Puwede namang sabihin siguro ni Jesus na, “O tutal, 12 years mo na ’yang tinitiis, what is a few more hours? I’ll get back to you shortly.” But no, inasikaso siya agad ni Jesus when He felt her touch His robe. Meanwhile, Jairus might have been thinking, “Jesus naman! First come, first served dapat. Jesus didn’t brush the woman aside because He trusts the timing and rhythm of the Father.
How liberating it is to realize that if God, who is in control of everything, is never in a hurry, then we, too, can trust His pace.
LET’S PRAY
My sovereign Lord, forgive me for the times when I am distressed with the pressing, and most of the time, superficial concerns of this world. Thank You for the assurance that Your timing is always perfect.
APPLICATION
