In Japanese culture, on the other hand, magkadugtong ang tali mula sa male’s thumb papunta sa little finger ng babae.

But the good news is that God always has a way of pulling the string back to Him until we find ourselves standing close to Him again.

In John 10:29 (NIV), it says that, “My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand.” Isn’t it reassuring to think na sinabi mismo ni Jesus na hindi Niya hahayaang maagaw tayo mula sa kamay ng Ama? In this world where betrayals, separation, and broken promises are normal, hindi ba’t napakasarap panghawakan ang pangakong hindi tayo maaagaw ninuman mula kay God? In this life where challenges, distractions, and temptations abound, isn’t it encouraging to know that the Sovereign Lord is at the other end of the string and is pulling us back to His presence?
