It’s Not Just a Movie

Iyong iniligtas ang buhay na ito, hindi mo hinayaang mahulog sa hukay, at pinatawad mo ako sa aking mga kasalanan.

Some of the most memorable scenes in movies are the action-packed ones. Tumatatak talaga ang mga makatindig-balahibo, edge-of-your-seat stunts where the leading man shows off his toughness and daring heroism. Pero siyempre, for every leading man, there must be a villain. At ang pinakahihintay-hintay ng lahat, kung paano tatapusin ni action star ang kalaban! Nang initsa-itsa ni Hulk si Loki at pinagpag-pagpag na parang basahan sa pelikulang The Avengers, palakpakan ang audience. Nang magsama-sama ang tatlong SpiderMan sa No Way Home, much awaited ang eksenang tatalunin nila ang mga kontrabida.
In real life, ang kalaban natin ay kasalanan. Para tayong damsel in distress na kailangan ng knight in shining armor upang iligtas mula sa kontrabida ng ating buhay. Ponder on Isaiah 38:17 (NKJV) and see what our Savior did to our sins. “But You have lovingly delivered my soul from the pit of corruption, For You have cast all my sins behind Your back.” The word “cast” means “throw” or “hurl”. Micah 7:19 says the same thing: “You will again have compassion on us; you will tread our sins underfoot and hurl all our iniquities into the depths of the sea.”
Wow! Imagine this as a scene in a movie! Our Savior throwing them forcefully behind His back. Squashing our sins under His feet, hurling them forcefully, and burying them under the sea! Tapos ay pupuntahan Niya tayo at kakalagan ang mga rehas na bakal to set us free! Isn’t that a wonderful scene? And what’s amazing is that hindi ito pelikula! Tunay ngang ginawa ito ni Jesus para sa atin. Sa pagkamatay Niya sa krus, nahatulan ang kasalanan, napatawad tayo, at napalaya mula sa kapangyarihan nito. Wala nang mas astonishing, mas action-packed, at mas edge-of-your-seat scene kaysa rito!

My All-Powerful Savior, You are the hero of my life. Without You, I am just like a character in a movie who dies without being rescued. Pero salamat dahil iniligtas Ninyo ako at inihagis ang mga kasalanan ko sa ilalim ng dagat.
