Ngunit naniniwala ako na mararanasan ko ang kabutihan nʼyo, PANGINOON, habang akoʼy nabubuhay dito sa mundo.

Saktong-sakto lang ang income nina Rod and Miriam for their basic needs. Pero naglakas–loob silang mangutang sa bangko para makabili ng condo. Ang pabirong sabi ni Rod, “Anyway, malapit nang dumating ang Panginoon! Hindi na kailangang magbayad sa bangko!” Isa lamang ito sa entertaining stories about how many of usview the end times. Pero meron namang kapag sobra na ang paghihirap, nagpe-pray ng, “Lord, dumating Ka na.”  Or, “Lord, kunin Mo na ako!”

We are excited to experience the Lord’s return because we believe na ang lahat ng paghihirap natin ngayon — sa kabuhayan, sa trabaho, sa relasyon, ay magwawakas na kapag dumating na ang Panginoon. Ang sarap ngang isipin at tama naman na ma–excite ang sino mang nananalig kay Jesus bilang Panginoon at Tagapagligtas!

But sometimes, we forget that we have the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father has sent in Jesus’ name, who has been teaching us and reminding us of everything that Jesus has said to us (John 14:26). This means that as Christians, we can bring life to wherever we are —  NOW. While we strive to live now with an eternal perspective, let us remember that we are given a foretaste of heaven, o sa Tagalog, “patikim” ng langit,”because the Lord still wants us to enjoy our life here on earth. Maybe this thought could help us bring heaven here on earth to people around us. Are our words and actions life-affirming? Do people who interact with us feel like they have “tasted and seen how good our God is”? (Psalm 34:8)
