Tunay nga itong si Yahweh, malasakit ay malaki, kung ang isang taong tapat, kamatayan ay masabat.

Awit 116:15

Nagulat si Ellen sa huling habilin ng Dad niya who was in critical condition. Pag namatay daw siya, i-cremate siya at paghatian na lang nilang tatlong magkakapatid ang kanyang mga abo. Nalungkot si Ellen dahil burden pala ng Dad niya na baka silang magkakapatid from different mothers will never be reconciled. This might be the reason why their father was still fighting for his life for two months, even after the doctors announced he could die anytime because his pneumonia had gotten worse. Being a mature Christian, Ellen gathered her siblings in the ICU room and they confessed their sins to God and towards one another. Then, she led them, especially her father, to receive Jesus as their Savior and His free gift of eternal life. Her father responded by squeezing Ellen’s hand. She then whispered to him, “Hindi na kailangang hatiin ang abo ninyo kasi OK na kami. Magpahinga na po kayo.” Ellen’s father died peacefully the following day.

In her father’s last days, Ellen witnessed how the Lord fulfilled His promise in Psalm 116:15 (NKJV), “Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints.” “Saints” in the Bible refer to the people who have been sanctified when they believed in Jesus (1 Corinthians 1:2).  Ellen’s father has become one of His saints because he believed in Jesus. God sustained her father in the ICU because this man’s death mattered to Him. God made sure that his death would end all of his sin and suffering. And that when he dies, he will be with God forever just like the criminal who pleaded to Jesus …”remember me when you come into your kingdom. Jesus answered him, ‘Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise’” (Luke 23:4243, NIV).
