Fatherless ka rin ba? Elaine grew up without a father kaya alam niya how difficult it is na lumaking walang ama sa kanyang tabi. Like those who grew up without a father, she has many insecurities and lacks confidence. Madalas siyang malungkot, feeling unloved and unwanted. And she would often compare herself to others. Bakit ‘yung iba meron pero ako, wala? Hindi ba ako kamahal-mahal? Is there a problem with me?  

If you are like Elaine, try to look at the bright side of life. The truth is, we are not orphans. We have a Father in heaven. According to 2 Corinthians 6:18 (NLT), “And I will be your Father, and you will be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.” The Apostle Paul reminded the Corinthians about this truth because they were probably doubting. Tulad natin, marami rin silang issues sa puso na kailangang ayusin. To encourage them, Paul reminded them of God’s promise that He would be a Father to all who would accept Him.

Isn’t it wonderful to know that we have a Father in heaven? Siya ang totoo nating Tatay! So even if your biological father is not around, your heavenly Father is with you and He loves you. At kahit na nasa tabi natin ang ating earthly father, may heavenly Father pa tayong matatawagan anytime. He knows us very well and He’s watching us from above. 

Do you want to be assured that you are a child of God? First, you must believe in His Son Jesus as your Savior. We become a child of God when we accept His one and only Son na si Jesus (John 1:12). Then, get to know your God the Father by reading His Word. Every day will be an opportunity to know Him more.
