Do you believe that your body is not your own? How could this be, you ask, since you have control over everything — what you touch, what you say, who you talk to? Pero once that you have already accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior, your body is not your own anymore because the Holy Spirit resides in you.

Let me backtrack a bit and explain today’s verse. Noong mga panahong iyon, the apostle Paul confronted the Christians in the church of Corinth about the issue of sexual immorality.

Paul wrote in the next verses that God bought you and me with a high price, that is, with the blood of Jesus. Tayo ay naging pag-aari ng Diyos nang tayo ay lumapit sa Kanya through faith in Jesus. Iyon ang dahilan kung bakit ang ating mga katawan is not our own anymore, to do anything with it as we please. So instead of using your body for your own carnal pleasures, you can use it to honor God — with what you do, what you think, or what you say.
