Rest in Peace
Sa aking paghiga, nakakatulog nang mahimbing, pagkat ikaw, Yahweh, ang nag-iingat sa akin.

“Ilang araw na akong kulang sa tulog!” Ito ang hinaing ni Isabelle sa kanyang best friend na si Donna. “Ang dami ko kasing iniisip. Bukod sa mga project na dapat kong matapos, kailangan ko pa ring mag-asikaso sa bahay.”
Isa lamang si Isabelle sa libo-libong mga taong kulang sa tulog. Ayon sa isang pag aaral, more than half of Filipinos are sleep deprived. Hindi nila nare-reach ang goal na 7-9 hours of sleep for adults. Most people only sleep around 4 to 6 hours. Failing to sleep well opens our bodies to different diseases. That includes depression, diabetes, and high blood pressure.
Maraming dahilan kung bakit marami sa atin ang kulang sa tulog. Ang number one reason is distraction. Dahil sa Netflix at social media, we have replaced sleep with entertainment. ‘Yung isang episode, nagiging lima. Kaya instead na matulog ka nang maaga, natulog ka nang umaga.
Pero bukod sa pagiging distracted, most of us lose sleep because of our worries. We worry about our finances, our relationships, and our future. While some of these thoughts are legitimate, hindi kayang i-solve ng pagpupuyat ang ating mga problema. This is the reason why God invites us to come to Him (Matthew 11:28). Kayang-kaya ni Lord na tulungan tayo sa lahat ng ating inaalala. Ito ay dahil nagawa na Niyang lutasin ang ating pinakamalaking problema — our broken relationship with God because of sin. Jesus reconciled us to God the Father by dealing with sin on the cross, and as a result, gave us eternal life with Him. If He was able to save us completely (Hebrews 7:25), then rest assured that He can also help us overcome all our worries.
When we rest less, we become restless. Magtiwala tayo sa kabutihan ng Diyos na ating Ama sa langit. Siya ang ating refuge and strength. He cares for us, that’s why we can cast our burdens on Him.
LET’S PRAY
Lord Jesus, You told me not to worry so I will obey You. Thank You for Your promise to give me rest. Help me sleep well, knowing that I am safe in Your Presence. Amen.

Spend some time in prayer every night before going to bed. I-present mo sa Kanya ang lahat ng iyong worries and problems, at ipagpasalamat na tutulungan ka Niya.
