Who is the strongest person you know?

In the Bible, we can read about a man named Samson who displayed incredible strength and won battles for the Lord. God opened the womb of his previously barren mother, making his birth a miracle. What made him unique was that the Lord blessed him with supernatural strength (Judges 13).

Sadly, Samson’s life started to go downhill when he revealed the secret of his strength to Delilah. Nang magupitan siya ng buhok, his strength left him. His enemies gouged out his eyes and he became a prisoner of the Philistines (Judges 13:18–21).

During his captivity, Samson prayed to God to strengthen him once more para maipaghiganti ang sarili laban sa kanyang mga kaaway. God gave him supernatural strength one last time, and he was able to kill more enemies when he died than while he lived (Judges 13:23–31).

Samson’s story proves that God is the source of our strength and abilities. Kaya kapag nanghihina tayo, we can always come to Him for rescue. Regardless of our mistakes in the past, if we call on Him with humility in our hearts, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). He is also able to strengthen us in facing life’s challenges!

Kagaya ng madalas na paalala ni Gary V, he may have the high energy to perform despite his age and health challenges, but the “PURE” in his “Mr. Pure Energy” alias was and always will be God.
