Let God encourage you today as we begin our series “Kapag May Nawala sa ‘Yo.”

Jeremias 29:11

Losing a job may send someone into emotional turmoil. The pain and fear of sudden unemployment are profound and can leave an individual feeling lost and vulnerable. Shame also creeps in, as though losing a job equates to professional failure. If one is in this situation, how does one hold on to the promise of God in Jeremiah 29:11?

Riva found herself jobless after years of dedicated service and hard work, during which she had a successful career in broadcasting. She made a life-altering decision to resign when her position was restructured. She was given a new post that she didn’t like.

Riva grappled with conflicting emotions. Sa kanyang pag-alis, Riva, couldn’t help but wonder if that was the end of her career, or the beginning of a new chapter in her life.

To forget what she had endured, Riva went to America to change her entire environment. She immersed herself in a world far removed from the familiar echoes of her former workplace. She embarked on a new career as a freelance writer. In her search for clients, Riva was led to a Christian church where she felt so welcome. Members of that church became her spiritual family, guiding her, leading her to Christ,  \providing for her needs, and supporting her every step of the way.

As she continues to walk with the Lord, Riva realizes that her greatest achievement is not a career in broadcasting but knowing Jesus and having a relationship with the Lord.
