Huwag mong kaliligtaang basahin ang aklat ng kautusan. Pagbulay-bulayan mo iyon araw at gabi upang matupad mo ang lahat ng nakasaad doon. Sa ganoon, magiging masagana at matagumpay ang iyong pamumuhay.

Josue 1:8

People equate success with wealth, fame, and power. When we have all these, we feel on top of the world and love it when people look up to us. We take credit for our success and become proud that our hard work and cleverness have made us rich. We forget that God gives us the power to produce wealth. Sinasabi sa Biblia, “Subalit alalahanin ninyong si Yahweh na inyong Diyos ang nagbibigay sa inyo ng lakas upang yumaman kayo” (Deuteronomio 8:18). 

Husband and wife John and Janna became multi-millionaires because of a successful real estate business. Their children were in exclusive schools for boys and girls. They credited their success to their skills and hard work, which is why they spent without restraint. They lived in luxury and extravagance, frequently hosting parties at home and traveling around the world. Then the recession hit, and the real estate business was down. Isa-isang nawala ang kanilang mga ari-arian, at napilitang lumipat sa public school and kanilang mga anak. Without anything and not knowing what to do, they turned to God. They realized they had not been a good steward of their resources and never thanked God for their success. Humbled, the couple repented and went to a nearby church where they were most welcome. They found a spiritual family that supported them and led them to Christ. The couple gradually recovered from their losses as they committed their lives to Jesus.

God desires to bless us with wealth, but He wants us to seek Him first, as Jesus said,“But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well” (Matthew 6:33, NIV). God wants us to put Him first in everything we do. He wants us to depend on Him and rely on His Word, gaya nang sinasabi sa Josue 1:8.
