Who Are You When No One’s Looking?
Ang magnanakaw ay huwag nang magnakaw; sa halip, maghanap siya ng marangal na ikabubuhay para makatulong sa mga nangangailangan.
Mga Taga-Efeso 4:28
When quarantines were imposed at the start of the pandemic, many were forced to work and stay at home. Students were also introduced to online classes. Dahil dito, naglipana ang videos showing how they cheat during online exams or recitations. Meron ding mga empleyadong nagkuwento on how they sleep or do something else during work hours. Hindi naman sila nahuhuli, they reason out.
But is this enough justification for dishonesty?
Even when CCTVs or time trackers are not installed, may nakakakita ng lahat ng ginagawa natin 24/7 — si Lord. Kaya nga the Apostle Paul urged Christians sa Ephesians 4:28 to stop living a thief’s life and start doing honest work and help others. This is how God wants us to live.
Mas masarap ang matulog knowing we did the right thing for the Lord, sa pag-aaral man o sa pagtatrabaho? If we say that we follow God, we should show it through our actions, may nakakakita man o wala. Even more, dahil nakikita tayo ni Lord, we ought to do whatever we do, excellently.
‘Wag nating kalimutang maging tapat sa lahat ng ginagawa natin. Wherever we are, we should work as if we are serving the Lord Himself.
LET’S PRAY
Panginoon, patawarin po Ninyo ako if I have been dishonest in any way. Gusto ko pong mamuhay nang tapat at may integrity. May Your Holy Spirit guide me and teach me in doing the right thing. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
APPLICATION
Review your school or your office’s policies about online classes or working from home. Conduct a self-check and see if you have been violating rules, sinasadya man o hindi. Ask God for wisdom and the strength to do what’s right in these areas.
