Welcome to the third and last part of our series “When Treated Unfairly.” How do we overcome the pain of betrayal? Let’s find out from today’s devotional.

Masyado kasi siyang maawain at matulungin.

Eva experienced betrayal from her husband and her so-called friends. It’s true that experiencing betrayal is hard.

Who betrayed you? Kaibigan ba, co-worker, or worse, maybe relative mo? But wait, who betrayed Him? Judas betrayed Jesus (Matthew 26:47–56). He betrayed Jesus by kissing and leading the guards to arrest Him. Imagine this act of betrayal that led to Jesus’ crucifixion and worse, His death on the cross! But what happened to Judas after his betrayal of Jesus? He attempted to return the money he had been paid and committed suicide by hanging himself (Matthew 27:1–10).

How will you overcome the pain of betrayal? Find strength in reading God’s words and ask Jesus to heal and overcome your hard feelings. In the first place, nauna na si Jesus na nagpatawad kay Judas, sa lahat na nagkasala sa Kanya, at kasama na mga kasalanan natin.

When treated unfairly by others, we can always turn to God and find grace to forgive, receive healing, comfort, and strength. We hope you’ve been blessed by God’s Word. Join us again for another refreshing message from the Word of God!

LET’S PRAY

Lord, I surrender my hurts and pain to You. Teach me how to forgive the person that betrayed me. I now release all my resentments and I choose peace in You and with You. In the mighty name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.

APPLICATION

Use triple “A” in forgiving someone: 1. Acknowledge that God is our Great Healer; 2. Attend to your self-care like eating balanced meals, getting enough sleep, or finding ways to relax; 3. Accept the situation and avoid retaliation.
