At ang mga hari ay tinipon ng mga espiritu sa lugar na tinatawag na Armagedon sa wikang Hebreo.

Pahayag 16:16

Sikat noong late ’90s ang pelikulang Armageddon. Sa doomsday movie na ito, na-detect ng NASA na may babagsak na malaking asteroid at magdudulot ng massive life loss sa mundo. To prevent this from happening, nagpadala ang NASA ng isang team para maglagay ng nuclear bomb sa asteroid at pasabugin ito, saving the Earth in the process.

Sa movie, sinacrifice ni Harry — ang character ni Bruce Willis — ang kanyang buhay para iligtas ang kanyang anak at iba pang tao sa mundo mula sa threat ng asteroid. Heroic, ‘di ba? Kahit na movie lang ito, maraming viewers ang na-move sa sacrifice na ginawa ni Harry because of love.

Sa Bible, mababasa natin ang kwento ng greatest sacrifice, nang dahil din sa pag-ibig. Jesus died on the cross to save mankind from a bigger threat: eternal death dahil sa kasalanan. While Harry remained dead by the end of the film, Jesus rose from the dead and now He sits at the right hand of God the Father. And one day, bababa Siyang muli sa mundo, this time to reign as the world’s rightful King.

Sa Revelation 16:16, nabanggit ni Apostle John ang Armageddon, base sa visions na ibinigay sa kanya ng Panginoon. Armageddon translates to “Mountain of Megiddo,” na magiging setting ng final battle between sa army ni Jesus at ng mga kumakalaban sa Kanya. Mananalo si Jesus sa laban na ito, at itatapon sa impiyerno si Satanas at ang kanyang mga tagasunod.

Walang nakakaalam kung kailan ito mangyayari; only the Father knows (Mateo 24:36). But Revelation gives us a glimpse of what will happen in the end times. At kung aaralin nating mabuti ang Bible, we will understand that the Lord’s actions which will lead to this event are a result of His love for us.

Whether mangyari ang Battle of Armageddon in our lifetime or a hundred years from now, one thing’s for sure: Jesus will emerge our victorious King, at mananatili tayong tapat sa Kanya.
