Ano po ang ibibigay ninyo sa akin kung tulungan ko kayong madakip si Jesus?

Mateo 26:15a

Sa pelikulang Gangubai Kathiawadi, sinabi ni Ganga: “My body, my dreams, and my trust were sold for just 1,000 rupees by someone I loved.” Galing sa isang may-kayang pamilya, Ganga wanted to become a Bollywood actress. She was lured by her suitor Ramnik and ran away with him to pursue her dream. Sa kasamaang-palad, sa isang brothel siya dinala ni Ramnik where she was sold to become a sex worker. 

In the Bible, a story stands out about someone being sold for money too. Sinabi sa aklat ni Lucas, “Noon nama’y pumasok si Satanas kay Judas, na tinatawag na Iscariote, na kabilang sa Labindalawa.  Kaya’t nakipagkita siya sa mga punong pari at sa mga pinuno ng bantay na Templo upang kanilang pag-usapan kung paano niyang maipagkakanulo si Jesus. Natuwa sila at nangakong babayaran si Judas ng salapi. Sumang-ayon siya, at mula noo’y humanap na siya ng pagkakataong maipagkanulo si Jesus nang hindi namamalayan ng mga tao” (22:3–6).

For three years ay kasama si Judas sa inner circle ni Jesus. In fact, si Judas ang kanilang treasurer, a position requiring trustworthiness. But Jesus knew full well that the betrayal would happen, so He said to Judas, “Gawin mo na ang dapat mong gawin” (Juan 13:27). At umalis ito matapos makakain, setting in motion the eventual suffering and death of Jesus.

Jesus was sold to the chief priests and elders for 30 pieces of silver. This was part of God’s plan, but He trusted His Father and submitted Himself to the perfect purpose — to seek and save the lost. He willingly went to the cross, His body bearing our sins, as the ultimate sacrifice — holy and perfect!
