Anak ko, ang aral ko ay huwag mong lilimutin, lahat ng aking utos sa isipan mo’y itanim;upang araw mo’y tumagal, humaba ang iyong buhay, at maging masagana sa lahat ng kailangan. Pananalig at katapata’y huwag mong tatalikuran, ikuwintas sa iyong leeg at itanim sa isipan. Sa gayon, malulugod sa iyo ang Diyos, at kikilalanin ka ng mga tao.

Mga Kawikaan 3:1–4

Para sa mga mas batang henerasyon hindi na masyadong pamilyar ang compass. Isa itong tool upang malaman kung nasaan ang north, east, south, and west. Kung wala ka nito, lalo na sa kabundukan o kagubatan, mawawalan ka ng direksyon at siguradong maliligaw at mapapahamak.

Our life is like a ship in a vast ocean. Without a compass, we will get lost. Some people think that life is short so they say, “Carpe diem,” or “seize the day,” or they think, “Que sera, sera, whatever will happen is bound to happen.” After which, one mistake after another happens. Ayun na, hindi na nila alam kung saan sila pupunta. A life that has no direction or a person with no moral compass exhibits self-destructive behaviors.

May magandang paalala ang Biblia sa aklat ng Mga Kawikaan. The Word of God is a guiding light na puwede nating asahan upang tayo ay gabayan sa ating buhay. Kasama rin dito ang paggabay at pakikinig sa ating mga magulang upang turuan tayong mga anak na makita ang tamang landas. Without wisdom and direction, people perish.

The Word of God reveals  the living God, Jesus Christ. It is also like a mirror that shows us who we really are. Makikita natin ang mga dapat nating ayusin sa sarili. If we want to experience a meaningful and abundant life, it should be built on love that only Jesus Christ can give. That is how we find purpose. Direction comes from knowing the Author of life.
