Sapagkat kamatayan ang kabayaran ng kasalanan, ngunit ang libreng kaloob ng Diyos ay buhay na walang hanggan, sa pamamagitan ni Cristo Jesus na ating Panginoon.

“I deserve to enjoy life. I deserve to enjoy my salary. I deserve to celebrate my small wins. I deserve to be treated well. I deserve peace. I deserve love and more.”

Madalas, malalim at matindi ang hugot natin kaya nasasabi natin ang mga ito.

While there is nothing wrong with these statements, why do we end up empty pa rin after getting the things we think we deserve? Maybe because we actually deserve something even more.

In reality, kung usapang “deserve” lang, we are doomed. Why? Because we deserve death dahil sa kasalanan (Romans 3:23). All of us are sinners, no exemption. This is because of our sinful nature when Adam and Eve disobeyed God in the Garden of Eden (Genesis 3).

But it didn’t end there. Despite our sinful nature, God’s grace reminds us that there is always a way out. That is through faith in Jesus Christ who died for us on the cross. He gave us the best, His only son! And we don’t need to prove anything to be worthy of His free gift of eternal life. He just wants us to believe and have faith (Romans 10:9–10).

Only the Lord can give us the best, more than what we think we deserve in life. He wants to bless us. He wants to free us from hurts, envy, and toxic relationships. Hindi Siya madamot sa mga nagtitiwala sa Kanya. He even said in 2 Corinthians 9:8 (NIV), “And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.”
