Welcome back to the series “Trusting God’s Plan and Timing”. Yesterday, we were reminded na hindi tayo nakakalimutan ng Diyos, kahit na parang ang tagal na nating naghihintay. Today, let’s learn another important lesson about trusting God’s timing.

Mangangaral 3:11

“Bakit single ka pa?”

“Kailan ka mag-aasawa?”

“Wala pa ba kayong balak mag-anak?”

“Bakit hindi ka na lang mag-abroad? In demand ang nurse/teacher/IT ngayon!”

Sound familiar? If you always attend family reunions, maybe, narinig mo na ang ganyang comments mula sa relatives mo. ‘Yung iba, well-meaning naman. ‘Yung iba, not so much. Either way, tila nakakainis pakinggan, hindi ba?

How do we react to these statements? Is it better to just smile, be quiet, and hope na  mari-realize din nila that their questions are awkward? Or is it okay to be sarcastic in this situation?

Kung naiinis ka na, maganda sigurong balikan ang 1 Corinthians 13:4-5 (GNT): “Love is patient and kind; it is not jealous or conceited or proud; love is not ill-mannered or selfish or irritable; love does not keep a record of wrongs.” Kung pikon na pikon ka na at handa nang makipag-away, i-recite mo ang Romans 12:18 (GNT): “Do everything possible on your part to live in peace with everybody.” Si Jesus nga, mas masasakit pa ang mga natanggap na insults from His own kababayan. Pero hindi Siya nakipag-away. He even forgave them. What’s our excuse para hindi ito gawin? Kaya chill lang!

It would probably help if we remember that most of the time, iba ang timing ni Lord sa timing natin. Hindi man natin alam kung bakit hindi pa natin natatanggap ang pinagpe-pray natinasawa, anak, o magandang trabaho man ito—we can be confident that the Lord has a good plan for us. We just have to trust in His timing.

What’s the best way to answer an awkward question the next time na umattend ka ng reunion? Try quoting Ecclesiastes 3:11 (NIV): “He has made everything beautiful in its time.”

God has made everything beautiful in its time. Kaya chill lang; just trust His timing at ituloy natin ang pagsubaybay bukas sa series nating “Trusting God’s Plan and Timing”.

LET’S PRAY

Lord, I know na maganda ang plano Ninyo para sa buhay ko. Help me to wait for Your perfect timing. Please give me also patience when dealing with people na maraming tanong. Amen.
