Ang tawag dito ay “finders keepers,” which means a person can keep what he or she has found and does not need to give it back to the person who has lost it.

Does that entitle the finder to keep the lost item? May instructions ang Bible tungkol dito. Sabi sa Deuteronomy 22:1-3, dapat na isoli ang nawawalang hayop, damit or anything your neighbor loses. If you don’t know who the owner is, keep it until the owner comes looking for it. Do not ignore your responsibility. Responsibilidad pala ng finder to help the owner find the item he or she lost.

When Rico got the cap, naisip niya na baka yun ang ipinalit ni Lord sa nawawalang favorite cap niya. But he didn’t have peace because He remembered that the blessing of the Lord adds no sorrow to it. Bigla siyang naawa sa nakawala ng cap kaya dinala na lang niya ito sa Lost and Found in case the owner comes looking for it. The Lord honored Rico’s effort and act of kindness. While rummaging through his cabinet, he found his missing favorite cap na matagal na niyang hinahanap!

LET’S PRAY

Lord, forgive me for being a “finders keeper” and for not making an effort to return lost items I’ve found to its owner. Help me to be a man/woman of integrity. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.

APPLICATION

When you find a lost item, make every effort to return it to the owner. If there are no contact details, bring it to the Lost and Found and pray for the owner to find it. If there is no means to return it, ask the Holy Spirit what to do. He will answer you and give you peace.
