Sikat ang term na FOMO sa social media lalo na sa mga Gen Z. FOMO means “Fear Of Missing Out.” May mga taong takot maka-miss out on what this life has to offer. Dahil sa dami ng bagong trends na pwedeng subukan ngayon, some people feel anxious and afraid na mapag-iwanan sa kung ano ang latest na ginagawa ng karamihan. Nangyayari ito kapag hindi sila nakakasabay sa kung ano ang uso—usong restaurant, usong cellphone, usong sayaw, usong damit, usong coffee shop, and so on.

Sa Bible, mababasa natin na may freedom tayong gawin ang lahat ng bagay, pero hindi lahat ng gusto nating gawin ay beneficial para sa atin at sa ibang tao. Hindi lahat ng offers ng mundo ay maganda, at hindi lahat ng uso ay dapat nating gawin. This is exactly why we need to be wise on how we spend our time and our days.

Paano nga ba tayo mamumuhay nang matalino?

1. Spend time with God and in His Word. God speaks to us through the Bible. In reading God’s Word, we receive wisdom, guidance, life, strength, and hope. We will never regret seeking God first.
2. Pray and ask God for wisdom. The Bible tells us that if any one of us lacks wisdom, we can ask God for it, and He will gladly give it to us. So, kung kailangan mo ng wisdom tungkol sa mga decisions na kailangan mo gawin sa araw-araw, don’t hesitate to ask God for it.

Hindi natin kinakailangang matakot o mainggit kapag hindi tayo nakakasunod sa uso sa mundo. Lahat ng material things ay lilipas din pero si Lord at ang Kanyang mga Salita ay mananatili forever.

LET’S PRAY

Dear Jesus, please help me to live wisely. I surrender to You my fear of missing out. Remind me that as long as I have You and Your words, I’ll never miss out. I trust that You always know what’s best for me.

Bago mag-follow ng isang trend, ask God first: “Lord, will this help me live wisely?”
