Welcome once again to our series “God is a God of Justice.” What are the different aspects of God’s justice? We’ll learn about that starting in today’s devotion.

Ngunit si Yahweh ay naghihintay upang tulungan kayo at kahabagan; sapagkat si Yahweh ay Diyos na makatarungan; mapalad ang lahat ng nagtitiwala sa kanya.

Isaias 30:18

A few years ago, may narinig akong dalawang batang nag-uusap. “Bakit Justice ang pangalan mo?” Tanong ng unang bata sa kanyang kaibigan. “Hindi ba ano ‘yun, pag may pinarurusahan? Justice ‘yun di ba?” Nagkibit-balikat lang ang pangalawang bata at bumalik silang dalawa sa paglalaro. The idea of “justice” can be confusing. Si Yahweh ay Diyos na makatarungan, pero ano ba talaga ang “justice” na galing sa kanya? Is it all about punishment and penalty?  

May iba’t ibang aspeto ng justice na makikita sa Bible. For example, sabi ng Panginoon, “You shall have just balances, just weights, a just ephah, and a just hin: I am the Lord your God,” (Leviticus 19:36, ESV). Ang tamang timbangan at sukat ay “just” o makatarungan sa Panginoon. In other words, dapat walang dayaan pag dating sa ating trabaho o business. 

Our business or work practices need to be fair. Hindi dapat tayo nanggugulang ng iba, dahil hindi ito makatarungan. We give people what they pay for, at hindi natin dapat tinitipid ang produkto o serbisyo natin. In this way, we honor the Lord of justice. We are called blessed when we trust God and one of the ways we show that we trust Him is when we practice His justice in our business and in the marketplace.
