It’s Okay to Cry

Ang Mangangaral 3:1-4

Nahihiya ka bang makita ng ibang tao na umiiyak ka? Pakiramdam mo ba ay mahina ka kapag nalulungkot at nahihirapan ka sa tuwing may problema? Don’t be.

Weeping is part of our reality in the world we live in. Madalas pa nga, hindi man kaaya-ayang pakinggan, shedding tears can actually help us. In fact, crying has a lot of benefits. Tinutulungan nitong i-cleanse ang katawan natin by flushing out toxins. Pinapagaan nito ang pakiramdam at mood natin, and it restores our emotional balance.

Crying is normal. Maraming bagay na nagiging dahilan ng ating kalungkutan—death of a loved one, suffering, sickness, failed relationships, at marami pang iba. Even Jesus wept noong namatay ang kaibigang si Lazarus (Juan 11:35). And just like Him, you can also express what you are feeling. If you are in grief, do not conceal it.

Ang sabi sa Ang Mangangaral 3:1-4, “Ang lahat sa mundong ito ay may kanya-kanyang panahon, may kanya-kanyang oras… Ang panahon ng pagluha at panahon ng pagtawa; ang panahon ng pagluluksa at panahon ng pagdiriwang.”

It’s okay if you are in a season of grieving. Hindi man agad mapawi ang lungkot at hindi ka ma-comfort, alam nating darating din ang season of rejoicing. Isa pa, we can find comfort in knowing that even in our season of grief, God is with us. Sabi sa Psalm 56:8, “Ang taglay kong sulirani’y nababatid mo nang lahat, pati mga pagluha ko’y nakasulat sa iyong aklat.”

God sees your tears. He feels your pain. He is embracing you today, and He promised that one day, pupunasan Niya ang lahat ng luha mo (Ang Pahayag 7:17).

Panginoon, salamat po dahil walang nalilingid sa Inyo. Salamat dahil naiintindihan Ninyo ang nararamdaman ko. Sa panahong nalulungkot ako at nahihirapan, paniniwalaan kong ito’y panandalian lang at lilipas din. Higit sa lahat, kasama ko Kayo at inaaliw Ninyo ako. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Express to God how you really feel. Huwag mong pigilin kung maiyak ka man. Grieve if you must, and then ask God to heal you.
