May mga taong nagdala ng mga bata kay Jesus upang hilinging ipatong niya sa mga ito ang kanyang kamay, ngunit pinagalitan sila ng mga alagad. Nagalit si Jesus nang makita ito.

Marcos 10:13–14a

Have you ever felt angry over something your friends did? Yung maganda naman ang intention nila, pero instead na matuwa, na-frustrate ka lang?

Mark 10:13–16 is a short passage that shows how Jesus reacted after His disciples did something for Him. Nasa Judea kasi sila at siyempre, maraming tao na nag-gather around to see Him. Maybe they wanted to listen to His preaching. Maybe they’re excited to witness a miracle. Or baka nakikiusyoso lang talaga sila.

Some parents also brought their kids, hoping that Jesus could bless them. So anong ginawa ng disciples? Ni-rebuke ang mga magulang! Maybe they were thinking that Jesus needed to concentrate on preaching. Or they felt na nang-iinvade na ng personal space yung parents. Valid concerns ang mga ito. Pero to their surprise, hindi ikinatuwa ni Jesus ang ginawa nila. Instead, He was indignant and told them to let the children come to Him.

Sabi sa verse 14, nagalit si Jesus sa Kanyang disciples. But notice how He dealt with His anger. After reprimanding them and explaining why He got angry, He moved on. If you continue reading Mark 10, you will see that hindi nagbago ang pakikitungo ni Jesus sa kanila kahit nagalit Siya sa mga ito. He continued explaining things to them, answering their questions, even reassuring them after ng episode with the rich young man (vv. 28–31).

When you feel frustrated over something your friends did, why not use what Jesus did in Mark 10 as a guide kung ano ang dapat gawin? Oo, normal lang to sometimes be upset with your friends. But don’t let your anger fester and ruin your relationship with them. Tulad ni Jesus, learn to express your anger calmly, forgive, and then move on.

LET’S PRAY

Jesus, when I get angry at my friends, please help me express my anger in a calm manner and then move on, tulad ng ginawa Mo.

APPLICATION

Kapag may nakainisang kaibigan, instead of fighting, huminga nang malalim, count from one to ten, and then calmly talk to him or her para maayos ang misunderstanding.
