Lalo na when we feel like we haven’t done anything wrong, and we don’t deserve the injustice. But this is not how the Lord wants us to be. When we’re hurt, God wants us to offer grace instead of revenge.
David could’ve killed him right then and there, but he did not. He chose the way of God — the way of grace.
He chose to humble himself and trust God to deal with Saul. David also knew that if he allowed himself to exact revenge, mako-corrupt ang puso niya.
What David did is a reminder for us of Jesus’ love for all of us. Dahil sa mga kasalanan natin, it’s just right to receive punishment from God. Yet, in His grace and mercy, God chose to forgive us.
We are called to do the same. Kung may nakasakit man sa atin, God wants us to offer forgiveness. Ibigay natin sa Panginoon ang lahat ng sakit and allow Him to heal our hearts.
Help me to choose grace over revenge, kahit po mahirap itong gawin. Amen.
APPLICATION
Instead of reliving hurts, give it to God. Get a pen and paper and pour out your pains to Him. Ask Him to cleanse your heart and mind and heal you. Pagkatapos, pray for those who have hurt you and release forgiveness. Leave it to God, He knows what to do.
