Si Yahweh ay nagdaan sa harapan ni Moises at sinabi niya, “Akong si Yahweh ay mahabagin at mapagmahal. Hindi ako madaling magalit; patuloy kong ipinadarama ang aking pag-ibig at ako’y nananatiling tapat.”

Exodo 34:6

Kapag tinanong ka kung sino si God, anong quality Niya ang una mong sasabihin? Powerful, all-knowing, holy? Pumasok ba sa isip mo ang “loving”?

Incidentally, this was how God described Himself to Moses on Mount Sinai. Bumabâ sa ulap ang Diyos at kinausap Niya si Moses. Sinabi ni God na Siya ay compassionate and gracious, matagal bago magalit, punong-puno ng love and faithfulness. He could have highlighted His power or His many other qualities but no, He talked about His love, mercy, and faithfulness.

When you introduce yourself, you want people to know the most important thing about you. In God’s case, in this particular instance with Moses, He wants His people to know that they can draw near to Him and not be scared because He is loving. Doesn’t this reveal to us what is in God’s heart? Hindi Siya diktador na gagawing mandatory ang pagsunod sa Kanya. Sabagay, mas gugustuhin mo bang magkaroon ng relationship with God dahil takot ka sa Kanya o dahil alam mong mahal ka Niya?

The next time na you feel so far away from God, remember what He told Moses. Balikan mo kung sino Siya. Stop listening to the lies na ibinubulong sa iyo ng insecurities mo. When your failures tell you, “You have strayed too far away from God. Hindi ka na Niya tatanggapin,” huwag kang maniniwala. Instead, counter the falsehood by saying, “You don’t know my God. As sure as the sun will shine tomorrow, sigurado akong Mahal Niya ako.”

God truly loves you. In fact, pinili ka Niya. Yes! Abangan iyan bukas sa pagpapatuloy ng ating series na “God Loves You”.
