Hindi ko na kayo itinuturing na mga alipin, sapagkat hindi alam ng alipin ang ginagawa ng kanyang panginoon. Sa halip, itinuring ko kayong mga kaibigan, sapagkat sinabi ko sa inyo ang lahat ng narinig ko sa aking Ama.

Maraming names and titles ang associated with Jesus. Messiah. Emmanuel. The Good Shepherd. The Alpha and Omega. The Bread of Life. At marami pang iba. Lahat ng mga ito, nagpapakita ng majesty and authority ni Jesus. Lahat sila, nire-remind tayo that Jesus is Lord, someone worthy of our love, praise, and worship.

Pero isa na yata sa pinaka-heartwarming labels that we’re allowed to call Jesus is the label “Best Friend.” Napaka-personal nito, at ine-emphasize ang unconditional love, support, and understanding Niya sa atin. Hindi lang simpleng boss-employee or landlord-tenant ang relationship natin sa Kanya. When we say Jesus is our best friend, it means na palagi natin Siyang maaasahan, and He’ll be with us through thick and thin.

Of course, hindi dapat one-sided lang ang true friendship. Oo, being best friends with Jesus comes with a lot of privileges. But we should also do our part in keeping our friendship healthy and meaningful. As His friend, dapat ipakita rin natin ang pagmamahal natin sa Kanya in big and small ways. We talk with Him every day, hindi lang superficially pero with all honesty and humility. We listen to and obey His Word. We live our lives following the example of how He lived His life here on earth. And when we do things that hurt His feelings, we own up to our mistakes and apologize to Him.
